'A Drop of Water' is a rain barrel that makes saving water really easy by providing a watering can that is automatically filled when it rains. This way, the user doesn't have to fill the can with our precious tap water, but uses 'free' rainwater instead to water the garden. |

With the small tap at the bottom of the barrel the watering can can be refilled after using it.

Due to the compact size of 'A Drop of Water', the design can also be used in smaller gardens or even on balconies.

The Making Of: These are the parts of the mold used for making the first prototype of 'A Drop of Water'.
Location: Pastor van Arskerk in Eindhoven.

The MDF Mold was created using a 3-D model of the mold.
Kleizen Modelmakerij Hengelo translated the model into the actual mold using a CNC mill.

To make the mold stronger and watertight, the parts were treated with liquid P.U.

After coating the inside of the mold, a coloured epoxy gelcoat was applied to create the outer layer of the barrel.

Following the gelcoat, several layers of glassfibre and epoxy resin were applied.

After letting the project dry, the parts of the mold were removed.

After glueing the product together with a superstrong glue and removing some rough edges, the basic shape of 'A Drop of Water' was born.

The rain barrel was given a final coating before the small green tap was attached.
