Great news again! Bas van der Veer was invited to present the Raindrop and Raindrop Mini at Grand Designs Live, a major interior design event held from Oct. 12-14 in the NEC Birmingham. Designer and television presenter Kevin McCloud has picked the Raindrop project himself to be one of 'Kevin McCloud's Green Design Heroes', a collection of ten innovative design projects, brought together in a separate exhibition at Grand Designs Live.
During last Dutch Design Week in October, charity organisation WWF has organised an exhibition and auction of Dutch Design pieces and Bas van der Veer was again invited to contribute to this wonderful initiative by donating a Raindrop for auction. After a very succesful week of exhibition, the Raindrop was eventually sold for no less than 235,- to famous Dutch couturier Hans Ubbink. This money will go directly to the chairity organisation, so a big thanks to Hans Ubbink on behalf on WWF and hopefully the Raindrop can raise even more money for charity during next year's Dutch Design Week!
Bas van der Veer will present and sell the brand new Hedde serving tray for Pilat&Pilat at the Toonkamer's Design Christmas Fair, organised by Dutch design magazine Eigen Huis & Interieur. The fair will be organised in the weekend of Oct. 17 and 18 in Utrecht, entrance is free.
Studio Bas van der Veer has designed 'Hedde' for Dutch furniture label Pilat&Pilat. This wooden serving tray doubles as a chopping board when flipped over and comes in solid walnut and solid maple wood. More information coming soon!

During this year´s Clerkenwell Design Week in London, two Raindrops will be exhibited at TOTO. The Clerkenwell Design Week will be from the 22nd to 24th of May.
Great news! Multiculti was taken into production by Pol´s Potten and will be presented at the Maison et Object fair in Paris in January as part of the new collection.
During the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven (22-30 Oct. 2011) a Raindrop will be exhibited and auctioned for charity at the WWF exhibition. Location: Klokgebouw Eindhoven, 2nd floor.
Speeddesign in the Dutch Design Week! Wednesday Oct. 26th, Bas van der Veer will give free 20 minute design consults at the MKB DesignBrabant stand in the Klokgebouw, Eindhoven. Between 14:00 and 17:00, you are more than welcome to come by and discuss your product or concept ideas, free of charge.
Studio Bas van der Veer presents two new projects for Dutch pottery firm Elho: Pure Rain, a sleek rain barrel with a bird bath in the top, and Brussels Herbs, a series of pots for keeping, growing and cutting fresh herbs. You can check them out in the portfolio section of this website.
Two Raindrops will be exhibited at the JETZT/NOW exhibition in the beautiful MARTa Herford museum from Sep. 10th to Nov 6th 2011. The exhibition will be a reflection of the spirit of the times, dealing with themes such as vanity, consumerism and sustainability. Other exhibitors: Studio Job, Joris Laarman, Maison Martin Margiela, Wieki Somers, Jo Meesters, Oscar Diaz and many more.
From Sep. 4-6 a new line of gardening products designed by Bas van der Veer for Elho, including the new Pure Rain and the Brussels Herbs series, was presented to the world at SPOGA GAFA 2011.
During the last edition of Journées des Collections Jardin in Paris, Raindrop was awarded with the first prize in the eco category of the 2011 Innovation Awards. Congratulations to Elho and a big thank you to all who made this possible!
From June 7 till September 10, a production version of the Raindrop will be part of the NATUUR exhibition. The exhibition will be hosted by the Artemis Design Hotel and will be featuring a collection of designs that are in some way related to nature.

April 22nd Bas has given a presentation about his work at the 11th edition of Bright Night in Pakhuis De Zwijger, Amsterdam. Arnoud Groot and Koen van Tongeren were the other speakers on this great evening dedicated to design and technology.
The Raindrop was featured in gardening TV show Robs Grote Tuinverbouwing of Feb. 26! Enthousiastic tv host Rob Verlinden installed the design in the garden of a family that had won a garden makeover.
During annual garden fair Tuinidee 2011, Raindrop was chosen the winner of the Tuinidee Award 2011. A big thanks to all visitors who voted for the Raindrop!
The Raindrop was nominated for a Tuin & Co Award 2011! In a couple of weeks voting can be done on www.buiteninspiratie.nl until April 15 2011.
Bas was invited to be a jury member for the 2010 Biodiversity Competition, a design competition organised by the Dutch ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Fishing. Together with a team of experts in the field of green entrepreneurship he will be judging the participating designs and pick a winner.
Raindrop will be part of the Prediction exhibition during the Saint Etienne Design Bienal of 2010. The exhibition will take place from Nov. 20 to Dec. 5. and will be featuring a wide variety of 'promising' design works.
The black version of the Raindrop will also be exhibited in Brussels this month as a part of Brainport's travelling exhibition 'Design For Happy Living'. The travelling exhibition has previously been to Helsinki Design Week.
During the Bloem en Tuin Beurs 2010, a large outdoor garden fair in Nuenen, Bas has presented the Raindrop, De Liefde van de Man and Multiculti to an audience of approximately 70.000 visitors, together with other recent Design Academy graduates Teun Fleskens, Fabian Riemer and Florian Krautli.
A special pre-production prototype in black of the Raindrop will be part of 'Design for Happy Living' exhibition this month during the Helsinki Design Week 2010. The travelling exhibition is organised by Design Connenction Brainport and features numerous designers from the Eindhoven region.
The production models of the Raindrop and the Raindrop MINI will be exhibited at Elho's stand during SPOGA GAFA 2010 in Cologne and Bas will be there with his brightest smile to present the designs!
